We all love fried oysters too, made a big batch one Christmas eve. I use a thinner batter (flour and seltzer only) -- I'm going to try your buttermilk/cornmeal recipe, looking forward to giving a good thing some more heft!

I have consumed this green jello--in fact, possibly the piece photographed here--and I can testify to its superiority as a gelatin-based dessert salad. I recommend it without reservation.

I have to comment and say you made my small-town heart sing with this post. Childhood summer was the best time of life and your blog made me think back on all those great, but simple memories. Building grass forts, drinking lemonade on the front porch and jumping into the cold creek from a rope on a tree. I think it is a fantastic reminder to all of us to slow down and remember the best things in life are simple, personal and come from the heart. Thanks for reminding us! Enjoy the pears.

Sean, I debated using my "real name" for the dish, but I had to call it like I call it! LOL! You may call it whatever you like though and I hope you enjoy it.

Oh my, this looks and sounds delicious though I think the name is so unfortunate. I'm going to call it Lasagna Verdura but I will give you credit as the inventor!
